His name was Martin Luther King,
He was the negro's choice,
But down in Memphis Tennessee,
They silenced his great voice,

This man was not afraid to die,
For what he knew was right,
He said so in his final speech,
In Memphis that same night,

He had a dream most every day,
Of how the world should be,
That black and white should be the same,
And everyone be free,

We fight for freedom 'round the world,
No matter what the cost,
But if we don't have freedom here,
Our country will be lost,

So let's all work together now,
To  make his dream come true,
And make this world a better place,
To live for me and you
